While searching online you’ve most likely come across an ad or two promoting surveys as a way to make some extra money and after all, the promise of working from home and making some extra money sounds pretty appealing, right? But you don’t want to be a sucker and fall for a paid survey scam. It’s good that you’re looking for more information about whether or not surveys are legitimate or not.
We live in a capitalist consumer driven society where companies desperately need feedback from existing or potential customers. The feedback data they receive from consumer surveys can mean literally millions of dollars a year. They take feedback about their products and marketing seriously and this is the reason they are happy to pay people to take their surveys. These surveys are not a paid survey scam, they are legitimate.
You must be careful when selecting paid survey sites; there are ways that you could fall for a paid survey scam. The companies that need these surveys for their data often hire other companies to take care of the complete survey process for them. Unfortunately, sometimes these companies aren’t scrupulous.
One sure fire way you will know you’re probably dealing with a paid survey scam is when the survey company wants you to pay for the form, the surveys should be provided free of charge. They might say you have to pay $5 for the form but when it’s completed you will get $10. In all likelihood the companies are paying $10 per survey but the survey company is skimming $5 of each survey to keep, this is a paid survey scam.
It should be made clear that some surveys will require that you to actually use a product and give your feedback on the survey about the product. The survey company will ask you for a small amount of money for shipping the product to you; this is not a paid survey scam. Once you pay for the shipping you get the product, which will be yours to keep, and when you fill out the survey and return it you will receive the specified amount of money. This survey type generally pays pretty well and you’ll easily recoup the shipping cost.
You may also notice that some survey companies will offer you points instead of money for completing surveys, they may offer vouchers for food or movie tickets. If they offer points or vouchers this is not a paid survey scam either as you can exchange the points for merchandise. While you may rather do surveys for cash, the merchandise can easily be converted to cash as all you have to do is sell the merchandise.
You may also notice sites that ask you for money in the form of a registration fee in order to gain access to a database of surveys that they update regularly. This is not a paid survey scam either. These sites have developed a relationship with the companies that handle surveys and have created databases. By joining one of these sites, you’ll be able to find many surveys in one convenient location.

Well in the world of online surveys its tough to find a program that isn't a scam. Try checking http://www.squidoo.com/legitpaidsurveys they have reviews on the best programs available today and they have a list of scam programs to stay away from.
Its because people are so gullibe. Show them a few green notes, tell them u get all of them for practically no work done, and you have a scam in the making. Most scams originate and propogate because of people's greed. Think about it, everything from grants to nigerian chain mails to gold quest everything works because people, though not innately stupid, are innately INTENSELY greedy
There are a lot of scams out there, so be careful. There are a few sites that I have used for a while now and have gotten paid by. The good sites won't charge you to join, and will usually pay around $1-$5 and up to $15 per survey, and up to around $50 a month per site. Each survey takes between 5 and 40 minutes, and you usually get paid within a few weeks either by check or paypal.
The sites that I use are SurveySavvy and Opinion Outpost, along with several others. There are a bunch of reviews at http://www.earnontheside.com/?page_id=13 , Just remember, if a site wants your credit card…. then it is a scam.

They're all scams from my own personal experience. And believe me I tried and got ripped off a few times as well. Don't fall for it, hard as it may be.
